Joseph F. Smith (1838-1918) was the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1901 to 1918. Joseph F. Smith was born November 13, 1838, to Hyrum and Mary Fielding Smith. He migrated to Utah with his mother after his father was martyred. Once in Utah, he began his life service to the church. In 1865, he served in the territorial legislature.
